Biometric Data Acknowledgment

The DGSeniors AI dashcam uses facial recognition to identify the driver and link detected behaviors to their safety profile. Depending on your state, explicit consent is legally required before this feature activates.

What Facial Recognition Does in DGSeniors

The driver-facing camera identifies the senior driver's face and links AI-detected events — hard braking, drowsiness, distraction, phone use, lane drift — to their individual safety profile. This allows the program to generate a personalized driving score and produce monthly safety reports tied to that specific driver.

Facial geometry data is processed on secure servers and used only for driver behavior matching within your DGSeniors account. It is never sold, shared with insurers, used for advertising, or disclosed to any third party.

If you do not consent to facial recognition, the dashcam will continue to monitor and record driving events — but events will not be linked to a specific driver identity. Monthly reports will reflect vehicle-level data rather than driver-specific scoring.

Your State's Requirements

Most Restrictive

Illinois — BIPA (Biometric Information Privacy Act)

Illinois requires written, informed consent before any facial geometry data may be collected. Illinois residents have a private right of action and may recover $1,000–$5,000 per violation. The additional BIPA written consent section below is required before facial recognition will activate on Illinois accounts.

Strict Consent Required

Texas · Colorado · Oregon

These states require explicit opt-in consent before facial recognition data is collected. Texas prohibits the sale of biometric identifiers (we do not sell data). Colorado (effective July 2025) requires written retention policy and bans sale of biometric data. Oregon requires consumer opt-in before collecting face, eye, or voice data. The acknowledgment below satisfies requirements in all three states.

Consent Required

California · Washington

California requires commercial entities to follow strict consent rules for biometric data and prohibits sale without consent. Washington prohibits certain uses of facial recognition without consent. The acknowledgment below satisfies requirements in both states.

All Other States

All Other U.S. States

While your state may not yet have a specific biometric privacy law, we require all customers to complete this acknowledgment as a standard practice. Over 20 states have some form of biometric restriction, and additional legislation is developing. We apply the same protections to all customers regardless of state.
