How DGSeniors collects, uses, stores, and protects your data — including driving data belonging to older adult family members.
🔒 The short version: We collect driving data to run the safety program. We do not sell your data to insurers, advertisers, or anyone else. Video clips are private to your authorized family account. We never share driving data with third parties without explicit consent.
⚠️ The AI dashcam uses facial recognition technology to match the driver's identity with detected driving behaviors. This is biometric data collection subject to state laws in Illinois, Texas, Colorado, Oregon, California, and Washington.
The driver-facing camera identifies the senior driver's face to link behavioral events to their individual profile. Facial geometry data is processed for safety scoring only and is never sold or shared with any third party. Residents of states with biometric consent laws will receive a Biometric Data Acknowledgment during sign-up that must be completed before facial recognition features activate.
You may opt out of facial recognition at any time by emailing DGSeniors@DriveGuardians.com. Driving monitoring continues without driver-identity matching. Illinois residents require a separate written consent form per BIPA requirements.
See the Terms of Service for full biometric consent terms.
When you sign up, we collect your name, email, phone number, and billing information. Driving data collected includes GPS location during trips, speed and acceleration, AI-detected events (hard braking, distraction, drowsiness, lane departure, forward collision warnings, seatbelt status), and trip history. Video clips are saved only when an AI event is triggered — typically 20–60 seconds around the event.
DGSeniors accounts are set up by adult family members on behalf of or with the consent of the senior driver. We strongly recommend that the senior driver be informed that the dashcam is installed and what it does. The account holder controls who has access to driving data and video clips.
Video clips are accessible only to users on the authorized family account. DGSeniors support staff may access clips only when a support request requires it, with explicit permission. Event clips are stored for 30 days then automatically deleted unless manually saved. Trip-level GPS and score data is retained for the duration of the active subscription plus 60 days after cancellation.
DGSeniors does not sell, rent, or share driving data with insurance companies, data brokers, law enforcement (absent a valid legal order), or advertisers. This is a core commitment.
We may share data with service providers who help operate the platform (under strict data processing agreements), or as required by valid legal process.
Event video clips: 30 days. Trip GPS/score data: subscription duration + 60 days post-cancellation. To request immediate deletion, email DGSeniors@DriveGuardians.com.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your data. California residents have additional rights under CCPA. Contact us at DGSeniors@DriveGuardians.com to exercise these rights.
